I don't know...call me Auntie Tomasina...yeah work it out, but I watched last week's all black episode with some trepidation. I mean there I was, bottom perched on edge of sofa thinking, what will people say when they switch over to the Beeb and see an all black episode filled with people discussing race riots in terms of 'us' and 'them'? I tell you, those script writers had me worried for at least the first half of the programme. Wow, I thought. Where are they taking this? Are they really going to address the challenges and triumphs of what it means to be British and black on a primetime soap opera? Like, where would they start? I scratched my head and stared at the screen preparing to be blown away. The minutes ticked on and I realised that the story is going to be about how Patrick took part in the riots himself. You know, a sort of 'blacks can be just as racist as whites' kinda vibe. Phew, I thought. Panic over.
